Live Earthworm Lab
3:21 PM
We are currently studying worms in science. The kids are so fascinated by them! We got to actually touch and observe LIVE WORMS in class. I cannot tell you how crazy excited my kids were to do this lab! Materials are easy to find and cheap. I got the live earthworms from Pet Smart. We also used paper plates, wet paper towels, hand lenses, pipettes, straws, and cups of water.
I have a quick live worm lab in my WORMS unit and a much longer one that is sold separately. We will do the longer one next week now that the students feel more comfortable with the worms. Click here to purchase the Worms Unit!

STEM Scientists - Mary Anning
5:12 PM
We focused on Mary Anning on a STEM Scientist challenge. Did you know she found an alomst complete fossil of a ichthyosaur at age 12? She was really amazing! In this challenge, the kids are given a set of bones and they have to try to put them together. They have to do what paleontologists do - use their own background knowledge and research to make their best guess!
This challenge was a tough one! They came up with some great ideas and had fun defending their choices! Click here to buy this pack!
This challenge is a really easy set-up!
